The route is around the Bay Run, a 7km circuit across Iron Cove Bridge in Sydney Harbour. The route passes through the Rozelle, Lilyfield, Haberfield, Five Dock, Rodd Point, Russell Lea and Drummoyne. The Bay Run is popular with runners and walkers, is shared with cyclists, and has pleasant views over the cove. The route is predominantly flat.
65K Ultra Marathon- You may have noticed that you will need to walk at least 9 laps of 7Km – this covers 63Km. We cover the extra 2km by walking out from the start point and returning at the very start of the walk to get it out of the way. From experience we know that walking those last 2Km at the end of the walk is no fun at all!
The 65k 4 65 Roses ‘base camp’ is set up in Leichhardt Park Oval #3. This is where you can register on the day and where your laps will be recorded. The base camp is a busy and festive place on the day, supporting the endurance walkers and entertaining families and friends who are there to cheer you on. You will find food for purchase, water for participants, entertainment and toilets at the Oval.
Limited parking is available near Leichhardt Park on Maliyawul Street at the park entrance. Other off street parking options can be found throughout Rozelle and Lillyfield. For all 8am & 9am starts, we strongly urge participants to use public transport.
